Hello everyone! My name is Mia and I’m the blogger and owner of The Cosy Book Shoppe. I am also a mom to two sweet boys, a wife to an amazing supportive man, play pal and sometimes parent of a 4 year old dog, and a homemaker. It’s a lot going on and a lot of juggling! It may seem like that is a lot and I don’t have much free time, but I always make time to do the things that I love.
So what do I love (aside from the obvious my husband, son and dog)? I love books, tea, candles and being outdoors. I’m a country girl from the south at heart with a love for the United Kingdom (and well Europe itself as well). When I’m not reading, I am outside doing all sorts of activities (fishing, hunting, riding atv’s,hiking, etc.) I love exploring and disovering new places and I hate/am terrified of spiders. Seriously though, I am arachnophobic. I do not do well with spiders…at all. I do like to cook and bake as well. I’m a big homebody (as is my family) and outside of our outdoor activities, we are much more into staying home/in than going out.
I like to have an open mind when it comes to new things and will try almost anything once. My biggest joy and love in life is my family and watching growth and change in my friends and family.
My name is Aleta and I’m a full-time single mom to one awesome teenage daughter. We live in South Carolina where I work a full-time, eight-to-five office job and my daughter attends school. Juggling work, school activities, extracurricular activities like sports, church, etc. can be quite a chore, especially considering that I am still “chauffeur” to my daughter until she hits driving age. Therefore her hobbies are my hobbies, and I am making it a point to enjoy these years and this time with her as long as this “season” of life lasts!
As for my own interests, I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with my big Italian family. I feel equally at home in an antique store or on the beach. (Those are probably my two “happy places” apart from my cozy home.) I grew up in the Washington D.C. area which resulted in a deep love of history. I also love music, and have a deep appreciation for art in all its forms. (Fun fact: I was the vocalist for my college’s jazz band!)
