Good morning! I wanted to just take a quick chatty second to talk to you about a challenge that I am going to participate in for the month of January.
*Before we begin…I am going to be posting blogs a little bit more often in 2018! I’ve got a post scheduled for next week and have a couple more planned out for the new year. It’s been a whirl wind second half of the year and we’ve had quite a bit going on. You can always find me over on Facebook (The Cosy Book Shoppe) or Instagram (cosybookshoppe) and I’ve recently started up on youtube as The Cosy Book Shoppe. Hop on over there for frequent posting and I’ll also see you here as the blog posts slowly start back up!*
Now, let’s chat about this reading challenge. Monica at shemightbemonica posted a video about #Readuary, which is a challenge all about reading for a set amount of time everyday. You can watch her video HERE. In a nutshell, #Readuary is all about forming a habit of reading everyday for a set amount of time, without distraction. It sounds difficult, but I think it can be done.
To do the challenge you would set an amount of time everyday that you think you can set aside to reading. Reading can be listening to an audiobook, reading an electronic book, or reading a physical book, just so long as you are reading. The time that you set aside is specifically for reading and nothing else. The amount of time is wholly your own decision. You could do as little as 15-20 minutes or a full hour. I am personally planning on setting aside 45 minutes and like I mentioned, it is everyday.
The challenge lasts for the whole month of January, with the goal (at least for me) that the habit carries on throughout the year. Reading is super important to me and is one of the best ways to treat yourself. I could (and maybe I will) do a whole post reading and how good it is for you and it is the best thing to do to take a little time to get away from the world.
Do you want to participate in this challenge with me? I hope that you join me for the month of January!
