Good morning everyone! I apologize that I did not have a post up on Tuesday, but I have one today and it is going to be a book review! I read this book a little while back and it did not disappoint. Today’s review will be on Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
You can find a full description of the book HERE.
I originally had heard about this book and how good it was when it first came out. I shied away because I’m really not a huge science fiction fan. I can only read a few science fiction books and they tend to be far in between. I finally picked this book up a few weeks ago as I needed to have a book to break up another book that I was reading. I figured if I didn’t like it, I would put it back down and try again later.
I really enjoyed this book and honestly I could not put the book down once I started it. There were aspects of Science Fiction, but I felt the book was really a mystery. It took the reader on twists and turns and while you thought you knew how it ended, the route it took to get there was worthwhile. There were surprises, a twist or two, and a perfect ending.
I really enjoyed the world that was created with this book and how the author interlinked two worlds within the same story. At times it was a very realistic story and I could see how it could actually become a reality for our world. I can’t say too much without spoiling a good amount of the book, but trust me when I say, it was good!
Our main characters were hit and miss. Some had a good amount of depth, but a couple were relatively shallow. It didn’t overall detract from the storyline and from the book, but I felt that it was worth mentioning. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book through the eyes of our main character. As his own story unfolded with the book, it became a very relatable storyline.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book! I couldn’t put it down once I started it and I really enjoyed the read.
