Baby is asleep. Tea is steeping. Candles are burning. Sounds like a perfect time for an impromptu chatty blog post! This is going to be really informal, just an afternoon tea catch up and chat type of post of what I’m loving for this week. The different things mentioned won’t be too long in description as most will have posts for review, but I figured I would just start chatting! So, grab your own cuppa and join in!
Speaking of baby being asleep, our sweet sone has hit 3 months! He is growing, thriving and developing! He learns new things everyday and is constantly changing! He has always had quite the personality but it is fun to watch him really like something and then really hate something. He is very alert and “talkative” and is able to focus quite a ways away and follow movements with his eyes. Every day is such a joy and blessing and I can’t believe we get to be parents to such a little angel.
Earlier in the week I found a new tea to obsess over. We took a short trip over to Mt Vernon (myself, my mom and my son) and had lunch at the restaurant that goes along with the estate. I am always on the look out for new tea’s and they have a really good selection of tea to try. I had a pot of just Earl Grey with lunch, but when looking around the shop I saw a tin of Passionfruit Peach. I’m not going to go into too much detail as I’ll be posting a review of the tea this coming week, however I will say it is fantastic!
I mentioned that candles are burning in the house…finally! I feel like I haven’t been able to get a good candle burning since our son was born. Mostly because I am trying to do so many other things and even though lighting a candle takes minimal time, I just couldn’t get to it. When I would get a moment of free time it would be spent doing a million other things from working to tidying the house (#newmomlife HA!). We are finally getting into a good groove and Colton is starting to get more of a routine. I feel settled into our new life and with that comes the return of some of my habits. Yankee Candle released its spring scents and while I typically don’t get many of them, I decided to try a few. What I am currently loving (and is currently burning on the table next to me) is the April Showers and Moonlit Garden. April Showers is right up my ally and is by far my favorite, but the Moonlit Garden scent is a good compliment. Such good smells and they can be burned separately or together. I personally probably would burn the Moonlit Garden with another candle as it is very floral heavy of a scent (obviously).
I plan on having a relaxing rest of my day here. The house is somewhat tidied up, only the kitchen is left, and I’ve got some reading I have got to get done for the book club I am a part of. I am so happy that we have finally started to have a routine and be settled in day to day life! I’m looking forward to our new normal! What are you up to on this Sunday afternoon? What books, tea or scents are you loving?
