Good afternoon everyone! I hope that you had a good end to your week and a good weekend! It’s been a busy week as we are preparing for our trip out of town and the holidays. We are definitely starting to get down to the wire and the last few weeks before Christmas and I am starting to feel it. We not only have Christmas, but our little man’s birthday comes not too far after, so it’s been a lot of gift buying and a lot of preparing/planning. Not only with that, but getting things squared away for the end of the year has also been a big thing on my mind and in my day to day.
With that being said, I am really enjoying taking a breather this afternoon to enjoy my book and a nice cuppa. It’s starting to get colder (I think they are saying snow for this week!) and definitely can feel that winter is here for good. Fall into Winter is my favorite reading time of year. It allows me to really snuggle up in my seat with my blanket, cuppa and a large book. I’ve been reading Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein and Henry the VIII by Allison Weir. I’ve been really interested in delving back into my Tudor and Elizabethan books as I’ve always found that to be an interesting time period and I’m always wanting to learn more about life during that time. Code Name Verity is a historical fiction novel that takes place during WW2, so I guess you could say that I’m in a historical mood for books.
For tea I’ve been loving the Cosy Book Shoppe Signature Blend and Earl Grey. The Earl Grey has been working its way back into my everyday drinking lately and I find it to be a lovely touch on the dreary cloudy days that we’ve been having. In general, I find tea to be a cheery comforting touch.
How was your week and weekend? Have you been enjoying a book or tea in particular?
