Good afternoon everyone! It is a gloriously rainy gloomy day today which happens to be perfect weather for a cuppa, a book, and a warm blanket! As it is, I have my cuppa, a blanket, and my son (the book happens later on during naps), so I can’t complain! Since I have my tea hutch mostly set up, I figured it would be a good time to share it with you. I have been dreaming of having a place in my home dedicated to my tea, tea preparation, storage and all of the mugs and tea cups! This is not the final set up as I will have a table set up next to the hutch with my everyday tea pot, some tea options pre done and a couple of mugs for quick access, but this is the closest I have gotten to what I envision so far.
Quick organizational perspective, the top three shelves are my display shelves and the enclosed cabinet portion is more storage based. From top to bottom:
Above the hutch, I have some display pieces. This includes my samovar, small decorative tea pots (the one on the right is actually a tea for one pot, but it’s too small for me to realistically use), little bears and then our Willow Tree people for our wedding and first pregnancy (I have gotten into the habit of collecting these for major moments in our lives).
The top shelf in the hutch has my display tea china. So my Royal Albert tea pot, creamer, and sugar, the matching mug, another Royal Albert Tea cup, a pretty teapot along and various tea cups that I have received over the past year or two.
The middle shelf is mostly my loose leaf tea collection and there are a couple bagged teas that I love. As you can see, most of the teas are from Tea For All Reasons and most are stored in decorative Tins. I will post more information about my storage and favorites on another post, so I’m not going to go too far into that right now, but this shelf is my favorite and most frequently used teas.
The bottom shelf in this section are my mugs. I collect different mugs and tea cups and I like to have a good place to display them. I do have a couple of tumblers/to go mugs on here as well that are my favorites. All of these mugs hold a special place in my heart, but I have a couple of favorites… Not pictured is my “tea shop” mug, although you can see it in the larger picture of the shelf on the right. That mug is another dear favorite.
Now the cabinet space below is used for storage and stock space. The top portion has my bagged tea box which is more than likely going to be moved to the table space or up in the top portions of the cabinet depending on how the space flows. You will also see on the left side is all of my loose leaf tea stock. The bottom portion is bagged tea storage and some other loose pieces.
So that’s it for now. I hope you liked this peek into my tea hutch! I’ll be updating as things start to evolve and once it has been finalized.
