Hello everyone! I hope that things have been going well for you! It’s been a busy time here at The Cosy Book Shoppe, but only good things are happening! Today I am going to be doing yet another book review, this time on The Anatomists Wife by Anna Lee Huber. I stumbled on this book in my search to find another read like The All Souls Trilogy. As a side note, I should really stop trying to find reads similar to my all time favorites as I am not really having any luck! This is going to be one of those shorter almost mini reviews as I don’t have a lot to really say about this book, but wanted to at least share my thoughts.
Before we get any further into this review, a summary for this book can be found HERE.
This book for me was OK. I enjoyed it, but wasn’t totally in love with it. The story and characters were well developed and relatable. It was a classic mystery “who-dunn-it” and had some societal mean girls elements to it. It made for a very easy read and a nice almost easy going afternoon read. You could definitely read this book in one sitting in an afternoon as it wasn’t a difficult read. There are several books in this series, The Lady Darby Series is what it is I believe, and I will honestly probably get a couple more. It is nice to have these types of books around when you want something quick and easy to fill a gap in an afternoon or in your reading list. I also did like the backdrop of Scotland and London, along with the time period of the story.
I don’t know whether I would truly recommend this book or not, because, like I said earlier, I liked it well enough but I wasn’t overwhelmed and in love with the book. If you are looking for a quick and easy read for a travel day or lazy afternoon and you enjoy a light mystery, this is the book and series for you!
