Ok, ok…so it wasn’t too long awaited as I what I ordered shipped just a couple business days after I ordered it, but still I feel like I’ve been waiting to post this for a while! This particular haul post is a little bittersweet (at least for me) because what triggered what I am referring to as a massive tea haul, is the fact that one of my favorite tea shops is switching over to wholesale and will not be doing anymore of the smaller retail sales. Which is certainly amazing for her and I am so happy for her, but I am a little sad about it to! My friend and I refer to her as a “Tea Whisperer” and it is certainly accurate! She has some of the best blends and I know that I can never go wrong ordering something from her shop.
The good part (outside of all of the tea that I purchased) is that she has sold the retail portion and the new owner plans on keeping some of the blends and purchasing them wholesale from her. I am so hoping that some of my favorite blends continue to live on through the new store that will be opening at the end of the year. So, like I said, a little bittersweet of a haul. This also means I am not going to be providing links to purchase the blends at this time, but I will do an updated post once the new shop opens to let you know which of the blends are available in the new store and provide links at that time (sorry everyone!!). I will include a little description though of each blend as well as a short blurb. Now, on to the copious amount of tea that I bought.
Dowager Countess Grey : This is my all time favorite blend of tea. I’m not even exagerrating a little bit. It smells like popurri and tastes like heaven. I will be doing a tea review post of this tea, so I’m not going into too much detail (as I could talk about this tea all day long), but so delicious and amazing! Also, it has these little pearl dragons in the tea that give it a “pearly” sheen so make it even prettier.
Catherine’s Blend: This blend is a close second to the Dowager Countess Grey blend, although this is one of those teas that I will drink a lot of and then take a little break from (unlike Dowager Countess). It is such a gentle blend of tea and is great for morning or afternoon tea.
Jane Austen Blend: This is a standard black tea blend that just sits well and brews well. It also has some rose petals in the tea as well, which always leaves a good hint in the tea!
Sugar Plum: This tea…yum! I honestly cannot remember if I was introduced to this tea through one of her sales or through a friend, but either way, this is a fantastic blend! Again this will be a tea that I will be reviewing so not going into too much detail, but this is the perfect blend of black tea and fruit flavoring! I am a big fruity black tea drinker (as long as the fruit flavoring isn’t too overpowering) and this is such a perfect balance. It is a perfect Fall/Winter blend for afternoon tea.
Falling Leaves: I have only tried this tea once, but to me it was the perfect fall/winter brew. It smells and sits fantastic on those chilly but still sunny days that you spend curled up with your blanket and a fantastic book.
Raspberry Rose Wedding Blend: This particular blend is new to me, but I’m looking forward to trying it! I’m a big raspberry fan and love when rose petals are added to tea, so I feel that this tea could be a great blend!
Christmas Plum Pudding: This blend is another one that is new to me, but it sounds divine! Based on the description it sounds like it will be Sugar Plum but with some different spices mixed in! I’m very curious to see if I am correct!
Cafe Parisien Blend: This is a decaffeinated blend that is very light and good for an evening cup. If you don’t want a “sleepy time” blend, but what to have the same calming effect, this would be a good blend!
Diamond Jubilee: This is another good standard black tea, that also has some crystals in it to add a little diamond sparkle to the tea when it brews!
This was quite the haul for me from this store, but when I heard about her selling the retail portion, I knew I had to stock up on my favorites!! I’m very happy for the shop owner though and look forward to what the new owner has in store for us when she opens!
