Good afternoon everyone and Happy Valentines Day! Since today is “All About Love” I wanted to do something a little different and special. I am going to talk a little about my favorite fictional couples. This won’t be a super long post, but rather just some cheesy to talk about for a little while.
Alright, starting things off is Harry and Ginny from Harry Potter. I loved these two from the first moment they met in Chamber of Secrets. It was obvious that Ginny was all about Harry, but I think their relationship really started to bloom in Order of the Phoenix when they both started being interested in other people, but really started to grow into themselves. Then in Half Blood Prince (when even more angst comes into the stories) it becomes even more obvious of the growing attraction. I feel that Ginny balances Harry out very well and keeps him grounded while Harry gives Ginny that “thrill” and adventure.
The next couple is another classic, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Yep, I’m going there. I absolutely love Pride & Prejudice and I love the dynamic of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. They push each in the best (and sometimes worse) ways. They have such a way with each other and it is a couple that I can’t ever get enough of!
We are going to move on next to a more recent couple that I have fallen for…Diana and Matthew from the All Souls Trilogy. I love how these two navigate not only their feelings for each other but the challenges that face them soon after they meet. I love watching them really grow into their relationship and to learn with each other in the relationship. They grow into such a great couple by the end of the trilogy and I loved every minute of it!
The final couple isn’t really a “couple”, but more a partnership that I have always loved. The friendship is one that I cherish and I know that I have my own “partner in mystery solving” in the same way. The pair that I am talking about is Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. They are such a classic friendship and a breathe of fresh air. I love that you can really see the dynamic and their relationship and they are as close as close can be.
So, those are some of my favorite fictional pairings! What are some of yours? I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and a great Valentines day if you celebrate.
