Good morning everyone! I hope that your week has gotten off to a good start and has been a successful one so far! I’ve done this type of a post once before and it was a successful one, so I figured I would try again. Plus, I definitely cannot decide which one of these two books to start next!
I want to hear from you, which sequel should I read next? I am torn between Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo or Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. They are both the second book, with Crooked Kingdom being the final book in a duology and Gemina being the second of three books. I’ll give a little bit of information about each along with links to my review of the first books and a description of the second book.
Starting with Crooked Kingdom, this is the second book in a duo logy that takes place in Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha World. You can read my review of Six of Crows, the first book, HERE, but to put it lightly, I really enjoyed it! The first book ended on a slight cliffhanger and I anxiously awaited the release of the second book. I enjoyed the characters and how the story fell into place within the book. The second book is supposed to tie up all of the loose ends and I hear that it reads just as well as the first one. You can get a full description of Crooked Kingdom HERE.
Gemina is the second book in the Illuminae Files series which is a futuristic science fiction series. You can read my review of Illuminae, the first book, HERE and it is easy to say that it became one of my favorite books of the year. I loved everything about this world and the writing of this book. It was one of the most interesting books and writing styles that I have read and it left me wanting more. Gemina was one of my most anticipated releases of the Fall/Year. It doesn’t follow the same characters, but rather is a companion novel in the series. You can get a full description of Gemina HERE.
So, you pick! Which book should I pick up next? Leave your choice below and if you have any book recommendations at all, feel free to leave them below as I am always looking for new books to read!
